AIMIS Attends the World Robotic Gynecology Congress in Washington, D.C.
With over 400 attendees, the World Robotic Gynecology Congress (WRGC) in Washington, D.C. has been a great opportunity for AIMIS to spread the word on our mission statement, educate talented and skilled surgeons on our philosophy and gain new membership. AIMIS is also thrilled to support its very own Director of Clinical Education, Dr. Arnold Advincula the Program Director of the WRGC III. Yesterday, Dr. Advincula opened the course with a welcome followed by his first lecture "Optimizing Robotic Hysterectomy: A Demonstration of New Techniques & Solutions for 2011 and Beyond."

Orlando's first Women's Surgical Leadership Initiative event was held on April 13. What an evening! As many of you may know, this initiative is meant to network and combine the passion of the local female MIS physicians - the future of this specialty. We had a wonderful turn out of 17 local physicians, administrators, and nurses from competing practices and facilities get together to discuss their passion around stopping needless open surgery for women. Dr. Lori Warren, Chair of WSLI, was on hand to introduce this group of high powered women to our wonderful grass roots initiative.

What and amazing morning it has already been at the Las Vegas CME, and it is only 10am! Dr. Lori Warren began the conference this morning with a breakfast meeting about Women's Surgical Leadership Initiative (WSLI). WSLI is an AIMIS-lead effort wherein the female medical practitioners of AIMIS collaborate to tackle tough issues specific to women’s care, foster open communication between patients and practitioners, and explore new ways women can improve healthcare for their fellow women.
